I've always loved drawing, painting and all other forms of visual art. I followed the arts programme in high school while also taking my science courses. I went on to study zoology at the University of Guelph and then as a zookeeper.

Still not knowing what I wanted to do when I was "all grown up", I decided to go from one zoo to another and became a school teacher. But the arts kept calling me. Whether it was drawing explanations on the chalkboard, designing sets for plays, exploring with Nature Journaling or doing crafts with my children, I often returned to my artistic side.

Watercolor became my medium of choice. What I was living and feeling poured into my paintings. The pandemic touched every facet of our lives, adding difficulty at every turn. The love for my work led me to push myself beyond my limits, and even further. My body forced me to take an involuntary leave of absence, and painting accompanied me in my still incomplete recovery.

Who knows where this will take me?
